General Rules

  • Show begins at 9 am. Schooling opens at 8 am.

  • Class registration must be completed online through the sign up sheet.

  • Anyone signing up after 11:59 AM on the Friday before the show will be charged a $20 late fee.

  • All riders/guardians must sign a liability release waiver before or upon arrival.

  • Class entries are $15 per class. If paying by division, equitation divisions are $30 and hunter divisions are $40. All riders must also pay a $15 office fee for the day.

  • Stalls available for $40 per horse. In the case of groups, for every three stalls purchased, the fourth is free of charge.

  • Payment is due the day of the show (cash or check). Online payment is also available in advance. You will be emailed an invoice upon completing registration.

  • ASTM/SEI-approved riding helmets must be worn at all times while mounted.

  • ALL entries must upload a current negative Coggins dated within one year of the show date before arriving at the show facility. A physical copy of the Coggins must be provided to the secretary's booth to be kept on file.

  • All riders’ ages are as of January 1st of the current year.

  • Proper hunter show attire must be worn in all classes (except when excused by the judge).

  • We will place up to sixth in all classes.

  • Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded to all divisions.

  • Dogs must be kept on a leash.

  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

  • No smoking is allowed in the barn.

  • Please do not pet or feed the Graystone Farm horses in stalls/fields.

  • Graystone Farm Horse Show Management reserves the right to refuse or change entries and/or combine/cancel classes with fewer than three entries.

  • Anyone displaying poor sportsmanship will be asked to leave the facility.

  • Under Tennessee Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, title 44, chapter 20.

Division Specifications

  • 18” fences- Open to riders that have not yet shown over fences higher than 18”. U/S class is walk/trot but cantering is allowed on course (simple changes permitted). May only cross enter into divisions with jump heights 18” and under. 

  • 18”-2’ fences- Open to any rider on horses or ponies. U/S class is walk/trot but cantering is allowed on course (simple changes permitted).

  • 2’ fences- Open to riders ages 12 and under in their 1st or 2nd year of showing at 2’ or higher. U/S class is walk/trot/canter and jump course should be cantered (simple changes permitted).

  • 2’ fences- Open to riders ages 13 and over in their 1st or 2nd year of showing at 2’ or higher. U/S class is walk/trot/canter and jump course should be cantered (simple changes permitted).

  • 2’-2’6 fences- Open to any rider on horses or ponies. U/S class is walk/trot/canter and jump course should be cantered (simple changes permitted).

  • 3’ fences- Open to any rider on horses or ponies. U/S class is walk/trot/canter and jump course should be cantered (simple changes penalized).

  • Open to riders on horses or ponies in their 1st or 2nd year of showing. For the 18" and 2' divisions, U/S classes are walk/trot/canter and jump courses should be cantered (simple changes permitted). 12" division is walk/trot only.

Hunters

  • Ground rails- Open to riders ages 6 and under on a lead line. Walk only. Judged on rider position.

  • Ground rails- Open to riders that have not shown 18” or over (may not cross enter into any divisions over 12”). Walk/trot only. Judged on rider position and control of horse.

  • 12” cross rails- Open to riders that have not shown 18” or over (may not cross enter into any divisions over 12”). Walk/trot only. Judged on rider position and control of horse.

  • 18” fences- Open to riders that have not yet shown over fences higher than 18”. Flat class is walk/trot but cantering is allowed on course (simple changes permitted). May only cross enter into divisions with jump heights 18” and under. Judged on rider position and control of horse.

  • 2’ fences- Open to all riders. Walk/trot/canter. Judged on rider position and control of horse.

  • 2’3 fences- Open to all riders. Walk/trot/canter. Judged on rider position and control of horse.

  • 2’6 fences- Open to adult amateur riders. Walk/trot/canter. Judged on rider position and control of horse.
